Sylvia Sue Perkins Medsker, born January 17, 1936, left this world for another
on May 25, 2014 at age 78. Her parents were Ruth Estelle Jessop Perkins ( dec ) of Connersville, Indiana
and Louis R. Perkins ( dec ) of Hondo, Texas. Sue was raised for several years by her paternal
grandparents, Maize Quyle Perkins ( dec ) and Guy C. Perkins (dec) of Connersville, Indiana.
Sue has two half-brothers, Guy Perkins and Louis Perkins, Jr., and nieces and nephews
who survive in Hondo, Texas, and in the Indianapolis area, along with several first cousins in Connersville, Indiana, and Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Tammy Medsker Cochran of Fishers, and Tracy Medsker of
Indianapolis. Her youngest daughter, Terri Medsker Signorino, preceded her in death on Jan 17, 2011,
as did Sue’s first love and husband, who also preceded her in death, Robert Newcomb Medsker, on Jan 17, 2004.
Sue was known as Cammen or Grandma Sue to 10 grandchildren: Allison Hayes, Ashley White, Adam Cochran and Abbey Cochran, Brandon Signorino, Brad Signorino and Brittany Signorino, and Casey Medsker-Saban, Corey Medsker-Saban and Courtney Medsker-Saban ( dec). Sue’s 6 great-children called her Granny Sue: Sam Ames-Hayes, Sophia Hayes, Seth Hayes, Scarlet Hayes, Zoe White, and Zander White.
Sue will be remembered for her love of plants, birds and critters, opening her home to family and friends, her love and compassion to care for the elderly, always wearing make-up and putting her hair in a bun, her strength and tenacity, loving movies and quoting movie lines, cheering for her COLTS and the San Antonio Spurs, loving the music of Frankie, Bing, and Perry Como along with rock music from the 1980’s and 1990’s, and for finding ways to pull the family together for gatherings and celebrations with her wonderful cooking. Mom was not perfect, but knew the power of grace and forgiveness. Remembering and loving the best of those times, we will miss her so much.

Just saw about passing of Sue. I have had no contact for many years but sure did think the world of her. A wonderful loving and caring person. Best wishes to her family.
